I have been a Certified Infant Massage Instructor since 2010.
I qualified as an NNEB Nursery Nurse in 1997 and worked in various early years settings from then until having my first baby in 2014.
Those settings included private nurseries, pre-schools and a Children's Centre.
Between 1997 and 2000 I worked towards gaining my Special Educational Needs Coordinator qualification and worked as the setting SENCO within all of my job roles.
In 2008 I gained my NVQ L4 Childcare and Management qualification whilst working as a pre-school leader.
Along side this I also trained as an NVQ Assessor in Early Years.
I covered a secondment role for Suffolk County Council briefly in 2010 with the Special Educational Needs Advisory Team before gaining a position at Dragonflies Children's Centre in Halesworth as a First Steps to Play worker.
This quickly grew into a Family Support Practitioners role where I worked alongside my colleagues supporting families within the community and assisting the local Health Visiting Teams with their weekly baby clinics.
It was at the Children's Centre that I then trained to become a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with the International Association of Infant Massage.
This became part of my role in delivering infant massage within the centre as part of our core offer.
During my time at the Children's Centre I had a number of training opportunities to assist with the theory behind Infant Massage such as The Solihull Approach - The First 5 Years and touched on Baby Brain Development which I found fascinating.
I left employment in 2014 to have my first baby and now my second baby has recently started school so I have become keen to get back to massaging again.
Fully insured.
Recent DBS check.

5 week infant massage classes run from Vida Haus in Pettistree and at Framlingham Library, both local to Saxmundham.
If you are part of an already established group with babies (eg NCT, pre/post natal yoga etc) I would also be happy to offer a course to you as a 'friends' booking.
I am also happy to offer private 1-1 courses within the home.
For more information or to book a place please either email or call.

On this 5 week course you will learn:
* Massage strokes for legs, feet, stomach, chest, arms, hands, face and back
* A short colic routine
* Gentle movements
* Touch relaxation
* The best time and for how long to massage
* What massage oils to use
* The importance of good positioning
* How to adapt the strokes for your baby's individual needs and the growing child

The International Association of Infant Massage course draws from both Indian and Swedish massage traditions, as well as incorporating principles from yoga and reflexology.
Four of the main areas of benefit include:

Interaction and bonding
The baby massage classes are taught by a qualified Certified Infant Massage Instructor in a relaxed and welcoming environment. They offer a wonderful opportunity to experience how to communicate with your baby through nurturing touch and massage strokes.

Your instructor will deliver the most comprehensive and the highest standard of classes currently available in the UK. The emphasis and focus is on sensitive and enjoyable interaction between the parent/carer and the baby, so that you gain a deeper understanding of your baby's behaviour, unique language and cues.

Most suitable from birth to 1yr old.
